PROJECT 1

At out first Kids for Kids meeting, we decorated paper lunch bags to donate to Mobile Loaves and Fishes. These colorful creations will help brighten the day of people who are home-bound and depend on local non-profits for their daily meals. We are so proud of each lovely bag!

PROJECT 2

We filled ziplock bags with dried beans and rice to donate to the Austin Capital Area Food Bank. This fun (and very messy) project is designed to help families without regular access to meals. We are proud to support the Food Bank's mission of fighting hunger in the greater Austin area.

PROJECT 3

In this project, we made "no-sew" blankets to donate to Project Linus by cutting and tying slits in pieces of fleece. Project Linus provides cozy blankets and stuffed animals primarily to infants and toddlers who are home-bound or suffering from an illness. We appreciate that this nonprofit gives our kids an opportunity to directly and meaningfully help other kids their age.

PROJECTS

PROJECT 4

In our most recent project, we colored coloring book pages which we will laminate and donate to Meals on Wheels. Our unique and colorful creations will serve as placemats to brighten the days of those who receive regular meals from Meals on Wheels. Since this project took longer than expected, we hope to give kids who didn’t finish the opportunity to complete their coloring.

PROJECT 6

We spent this meeting finishing the placemats from our fourth meeting. By the end, most kids had the opportunity to make two placemats.

PROJECT 5

At our fifth meeting we made cards to donate to Dell's Children's Hospital. This project particularly exemplifies the goals of Kids for Kids because it gave our members the opportunity to directly help other kids of their age.

PROJECT 7

In honor of teacher appreciation month, we made gifts for the office staff. Each jar included chocolate, decorated pens, jumbo paperclips, book marks, and colored rulers. We wanted to show the office staff that we appreciate how much they do for us.

PROJECT 8

For our final Kids for Kids project, we decorated white gift bags that we picked up from Terra Toys. Terra Toys has a unique program in place and will pay a small amount of money for each decorated bag that you return to them. We will vote via email on which charity we want to donate our small earnings to.
